| Polish
immigrants have brought
with them from their native land a wealth of traditions, spiritual
values,
their tasty recipes and enthusiasm for their own native dishes. Polish
food culture has truly priceless treasures of a tangible character and
the cultural significance connected to historical ceremonies. We are
currently
in the process of collecting the Polish
Recipes and would appreciate your help. In addition to the
traditional
recipes, you could also send food related articles and information
related
to the cultural significance of Polish food or describe traditional
holiday
ceremonies. Please E-mail
your recipes to us or use Blog
to share them with our community. |

| The
total number of Poles
claiming Polish origin in Canada is over 600,000. "Polonia" is the name
the Polish people give to their communities in diaspora. A significant
Polish presence here in Canada began in the middle of the 19th century
and has been continually maintained up to now by repeated waves of
immigration
following mayor economic, political or military crises in Poland. Click

| Brantford
Polish School is a wonderful place which welcomes all kids who
want to learn Polish language and culture. Our students are children
from
Polish and "mixed" families. The school teaches literacy skills in
Polish
(reading and writing) and offers a solid grounding in Polish history,
culture,
and traditions. |
|
| On
our pages you will find
great selection of Polish
Proverbs, Selection
of Tales by Polish Authors and Fairy
Tales for your kids, you could read and enjoy them for free.
You
could also participate in building our own collection of fairy tales,
stories,
essays or articles related to our Polish heritage. Please send us news
and stories that might be of interest to the Polish-Canadian community. |
|
| No
doubt most of us have
variety of interesting Polish memorabilia, books, magazines, old
newspapers
clips, letters from Poland, CDs, DVDs, etc. in our homes, so please
consider
sharing them with many, rather than leaving them in a box at home. We
ask
all of you to donate items in both Polish and English to the Polish
Mutual
Benefit and Friendly Society as well as provide financial support for
this
project. Each donor will receive a thank you letter directly from the
Polish
Mutual Benefit and Friendly Society and will be acknowledged on Our
Donators
Board. Our goal is to collect and preserve all valuable items we
receive
as donations. We need your full support to make Brantford Polish
Archive
a reality. |
